Angry Sistah
Nyema a young educated African American woman and owner of "Black Folks do Read Bookstore" in the Bronzeville neighborhood in Chicago, seems continuously confronted by the stereotype of Angry Black Woman. When a local radio station badgers black women she finds herself fuming. Comic relief Jamison suggests a discussion at the bookstore. She invites an array of characters from an elderly woman to a aspiring rapper. The play brings drama, humor and realism to the stereotype of Angry Black Woman.
